The Toshiba MK8057GSC is a 2.5” small form-factor internal HDD solution for in-car navigation, infotainment, and industrial computing applications. It features a 4200RPM drive and 8MB buffer data cache with a 432MB/s data transfer rate.

The MK8057GSC maintains a SATA interface that enables automotive system designers to utilize the latest automotive chip-set technologies. Plus, the Toshiba MK8057GSC’s SATA interface reduces signal-line complexity, while still supporting improved data transfer rates versus PATA-based HDDs. The most notable feature of the Toshiba MK8057GSC internal HDD is its ability to operate effectively in hostile environments, including an altitude of 12,000 meters and a temperature of up to a whopping 203 degrees Fahrenheit. The Toshiba MK8057GSC became available for automotive OEMs & aftermarket suppliers during late 2008, and was released for market retail during the middle of 2009.
