Toshiba claims that this piece is environmental friendly, it doesn't come with some typical hazardous material such as halogens, antimony trioxide, red phosphorus as well as polyvinyl chloride. It is also efficient with power consumption. It has only 5400 RPM (it shut the system down 34 percent slower and open big files 30 seconds slower than a 7200 RPM drive). Its average seek time is only 12ms, making it much faster than the 16ms average of Toshiba MK3029GACE.
Curiously, the Toshiba product page has no information about shock resistance, probably because that feature is not one of this piece's selling points. It must be noted that critics from across the board are *not* happy with this piece, saying that it is too costly for its features, wastes battery life, and can't keep up with its peers such as the Western Digital's 500GB Scorpio Blue.
