It builds from its predecessor (the N2100) by adding along support for UPnP/DLNA media streaming, as well as USB-connected surveillance and hot swap drive replacements. It stays on 24/7 and allows locally or remotely connected friends and family members immediate access to whatever is stored onboard. Additional features include RAID configuration options; a download manager with http, FTP, Bit-Torrent, and eMule download features; and automatic backups.
