Unlike a network-attached storage device, the N2050 connects to a single PC, but it does this at a speed of 3Gb/s, which is 6x faster than USB 2.0. In case a user’s computer lacks an eSATA port, a SATA/USB dual mode can be used instead, although it lowers the speed to 1Gb/s. With two maximum-sized SATA drives, the N2050 can provide 1 terabyte (TB) of storage space for throngs of pictures, songs, and videos. Most importantly, the device is plug-n-play AND includes support for RAID, which means that data from one drive can be automatically backed up onto the other.
