The Samsung SH-S223Q is an internal DVD/CD writer that connects to PCs via a Serial ATA interface. Built as a superior to the PATA SH-S222A and SATA SH-223F, the SATA SH-S223Q adds along TruDirect real-time recording.

This unique technology does not require an HD buffer, therefore allowing it to record directly onto a disc—resulting in a reduced recording time. Other notable aspects include: Speed Adjustment Technology for automatic writing-speed optimization, LightScribe for burning labels, and SpeedPlus power technology. Most unique about the Samsung SH-S223Q is its double Optimum Power Control, built specifically to ensure that the writing quality remains consistent on both the inner and outer sides of the media disc.
