The EcoGreen series is made with Samsung's EcoTriangleTM technology, which utilizes eco-friendly components. Low-power, low-noise (thanks to the SilentSeek and NoiseGuard technologies) operating technology is also a feature here. Samsung is promoting the F1 DT line as having an improved performance compared to their previous internal hard disk drive offerings, due mostly to its dual ARM-based firmware, as well as the SATA native command queuing feature, which improves performance by optimizing the order in which commands are executed. In terms of power consumption, the EcoGreen series has been voted best-in-class for two straight years by IDEMA (International Disk Drive Equipment and Materials Association) Japan.
