The drive has no moving parts and like all SSD drives does not require defragmentation, uses little power and is ideal for laptops because it is so light and compact. MLC (multi-level cell) construction has been used which has a greater storage capacity than the newer, more expensive and reliable SLC (single-level cell) format although it is the industry standard until SLC becomes more affordable. RAID is also supported so multiple drives can run together and be recognized by the computer as one drive. The 128MB of onboard RAM make this drive stand out as a workhorse in any high-end processing application including video editing and gaming, and as a host of computer programs that are accessed frequently from other company computers(enterprise server).
