The Onyx 2's fast read/write speeds ensure faster application loading, near-instantaneous data access, shorter boot times and decreased energy usage (reducing battery usage on laptops). When used as a system's primary OS drive, the Onyx 2 can boost system performance noticeably. Meanwhile, the Onyx 2, like all SSDs, boasts a much longer operating life than standard hard disk drives as it features no moving parts.
