This is one of the first drives to incorporate a single-level cell (SLC) design at this price point in a market where typically multi-level cell's (MLC) are more affordable. The difference between these two technologies is that SLC offers faster write performance and greater reliability even at higher temperatures while MLC has a larger available storage capacity and is cheaper to manufacture. These drives may be used as enterprise servers to host programs for a large company to access, also they may be used in conjunction with data intensive applications like video editing, where a large process needs to be saved or recalled very quickly. Released in August of 2009, the Agility EX has been tested to be one the fastest SSD drives in this growing market.
