NewerTech Guardian MAXimus
Released January, 2010
The NewerTech Guardian MAXimus is a high-end external drive. It shares similar aspects with an upcoming drive by NewerTech, the Guardian MAXimus mini. Both of the drives are able to use FireWire 800 and 400 connections, and both of them utilize two drives in order to create a real-time back-up of the user's data.

However, the Guardian MAXimus mini will also be available with a 400GB solid state drive model, allowing for even faster access times. The Guardian MAXimus features vibration dampeners, that are placed directly underneath the harddrives, which reduce the amount of noise they make. This gives the user a quiet environment to work with, undisturbed by any noise the harddrives would normally make. It also features a shock resistant design, ensuring that all of the user's data will remain undamaged in case the drive happens to fall somewhere. In addition, the design also helps protect against physical damage to the drive. As well as these features, the Guardian MAXimus can have up to 2TB of storage, depending on the model the user chooses. It comes on models ranging from 320GB-2TB, giving the user a large amount of space, enough for up to 2 million photos, or up to 1000 DVD quality films.
