The Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ RND4250 is a 1TB network-attached storage device designed for home and small-office users. It features four SATA drives bays, two of which each house a single 500GB hot-swappable HDD.

It can connect directly to a network via Gigabit Ethernet, after-which it can stream media to UPnP-compliant AV devices as function as a file, DHCP, and print server. Included also are three USB ports for connecting to printers, external hard drivers, or flash drives. The RND4250 also supports RAID 0, 1, and 5 configurations; as well as Netgear’s proprietary X-RAID configuration, which automates volume expansion as the user adds or removes drives. Additional features include an easy-carry handle on the back, a one-touch backup button, and a backlit text LCD on the front.
