Both the 3100 and its peer feature hot-swappable SATA drives, redundant system cooling, redundant network ports, Error-Correcting Code, and architectural support for NAS and iSCSI SAN applications. In fact, Netgear claims that the 3100 is the first 1U rack-mount under $5000 with a redundant power supply.
