The Lite-On eSAU208 is a slender and colorful USB-powered, external 8X DVD/CD writer. It retails in four color options and requires no AC power adapter—your PC or notebook is the power source. Once hooked up via USB 2.0 interface, the unit can read and write single- and dual-layered DVDs, as well as single-layered CDs.

Plus, it hosts LightScribe technology, allowing “silkscreen-quality” images to be burnt directly onto a disc. Included with the eSAU208 are a plethora of advanced features that ensure seamless operation: Super AllWrite for compatibility with various CD/DVD formats; SMART-BURN for avoiding Buffer-Under-Run Errors; Smart-X for faster data extraction; and an ABS system that ensures quality recording and reading.
