The LaCie Ethernet Disk mini - Home Edition is an updated version of the Ethernet Disk mini. It is a mid-range network storage device aimed at home use, as the name suggests. With either 500 GB or 1 TB of storage space, it allows users on a network to back up and share files over Gigabit Ethernet.

Unlike the original Ethernet Disk mini, the Home Edition supports LaCie's media portal, a service that makes files stored on the device available from anywhere. Through HomeLaCie.com, users can remotely start uploads to and from their NAS units, and share files with family and friends, although glitches are reportedly common with this feature. The device also features a USB port, and can stream music and movies to UPnP devices, including game consoles. The Ethernet Disk mini - Home Edition is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems, and features an integrated iTunes music server.
