The Pros:Root access via ssh is possible. Google search for "ix4 ssh" (first two hits). Easy administration through web interface. RAID 5 out of the box.
The Cons:NFS export options, specifically access permissions, are not settable by user. Administrator must enable user-level security, not enabled by default. Turn off the media server if you don't want it, otherwise it will create disk activity and make thumbnails everywhere.
The Iomega StorCenter ix4-100 and ix4-200d are network-attached storage devices aimed primarily at small businesses. The ix4-100 has a capacity of 6 TB, while the 200d is available in 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB capacities.

All models use gigabit ethernet to store, share, and back up files from each computer on a network, and support RAID 5, RAID 10, and JBOD modes. Business-friendly features include print server capability, UPS support, folder quotas, and Active Directory support. The devices can also serve as DLNA media servers and torrent download managers. Backup and recovery software is included.

#iomega_storcenter_ix4 I have an ix4-100 4TB (4 - 1TB drives). Will it (unofficially) support 2TB drives, making it an 8TB unit? I'm assuming I can at least put 1.5TB drives to make it a 6TB unit.

It is necessary to crack the root password to do so. This is not difficult, you find the recipe, even the password, on google. But you are at the mercy of a change of mind from iomega at the next firmware upgrade.
Not an enormous CON argument, but I would not put it in the PROS still.
