The Hitachi Ultrastar C10K600 is a high-end 2.5" hard disk drive that spins at 10,000 rotations per minute. It boasts "18% faster sequential and up to 15% random performance than the nearest competitor" as well as offering 22% less power consumption than comparable drives.

Additionally, the Ultrastar C10K600 operates on a 6Gb/s SCSI SAS platform, boasts a 64MB cache buffer and is available in 300GB, 450GB and 600GB capacities.

The Ultrastar C10K600's 10,000 rpm operating speed and 6Gb/s SCSI SAS platform ensure extremely fast read/write times for a traditional hard disk hard drive allowing it to boast a 3.7ms typical seek time. Its 64MB cache buffer adds to the Ultrastar C10K600's performance, allowing it to operate quickly even under heavy system strain.
