Hitachi CinemaStar 5K500

The Hitachi CinemaStar 5K500 is one of the first hard drives to be based on the Hitachi low power design. The CoolSpin feature limits the energy needed during spin-up and operation, making the CinemaStar 5K500 deliver a 30% improvement in power efficiency over its immediate predecessor.

It is a 3.5 inch, 500GB two-platter hard drive and is listed at being able to hold up to 250 standard definition feature-length films, 125,000 MP3 four minute songs or 250 video games. The Hitachi CinemaStar 5K500 is designed to operate in set-top boxes and digital video recorder storage devices.
