The MediaStation 8x Portable DVD Drive w/LED Power Indicator is an optical disc drive from the Buffalo company. Optimized for use with laptop and netbook computers, this model incorporates an ultra-slim design that can be used to burn and play back CDs and DVDs.

Featuring an in-line USB cable for quick connectivity, users can monitor power levels at all times via the unit's LED indicator. Higher-end computers that do not require any supplemental current will show a green light, while lower-end models that show a red light will need to be used in conjunction with an AC adapter. Windows owners can use the included Cyberlink software suite to edit, organize, create and view DVD content, utilizing the "PowerDirector", "PowerProducer" and "PowerDVD" applications respectively. Read and write speeds up to 8x are available for DVDs (DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW), with CD-R and CD-RW burning compatible up to 24x. A two-year manufacturer warranty is included.
