The ASUS BC-06B1ST is an internal Blu-ray Disc drive, capable of reading & writing/rewriting a variety of formats. This drive is capable of writing single layer BD-R or BD-RE discs at 6X, and reading either single or dual layer Blu-rays at 4X.

Product Shot 2 The ASUS BC-06B1ST is also capable of writing single or dual layer DVDs, with a max speed of 16X for DVD±R, 8X for DVD+RW and 6X for DVD-RW. CD-Rs can be written at 48X, while CD-RWs can be written at 32X. This Blu-ray Disc drive also features disc encryption capabilities, buffer underrun protection and automatic write speed adjustment in order to protect the user and prevent data from becoming lost. Asus includes what they call “E-Green” technology, which automatically shuts down unused applications relating to the Blu-ray drive, thus saving energy. The ASUS BC-06B1ST comes bundled with Cyberlink software for watching Blu-rays and DVDs.
